Best Animation Short

This message will self destruct in 5, 4, 3, 2 .....

Any of you in animation out there? Do you have any shorts or demo reels? Want to work on a project together? Let's TALK! :)

What I love about short films is the story and action packed sequence - the humour. In the span of just a few minutes they can leave the audience captivated and still. You can hear a pin drop for a well directed and scripted short and of course all the animation genius that goes with it! There truly is a cast of people that makes this magic happen.

If you think about it, one of the best sequence I enjoyed is the beginning of the movie UP. When they go through Elly and Carl's life. Without one word being spoken, they take you through all the emotions that this couple went through together til the very end when she transitioned into non-physical. And I admit, I did shed a tear. It's so powerful what we humans can create when we put our genius to work. What's yours?

The One and Only ~ Charlie Butt

Here lies in this blue cardboard box .... the inspiration to some of the best paintings in the world! And also Snowy from Tintin :) ~ Pam

Squirrellll - The Archrival

Note for Mum

This is a note for mum I left on her bed. She is a HUGE Beatrix Potter fan! So, I sketched a random piece for her as I see a bit of her in this picture - notice her giving her two bits to the butterfly (transformation) LOL. And no, she is a not a mouse :) Thank you Beatrix Potter for your inspiration to people of all ages!

Hey, when was the last time you sent a loving note to a family member, friend, lover or whoever! We would love to hear from you and you may be selected to be featured on our blog. Include a little write up as well.  ~ Pam (No copyright infringement intended.)

~ BLUE MOUNTAIN ~ Tribute to Bob Ross who said, 'Anyone Can Paint!'

This painting was inspired by Bob. It was our first deliberation of it and loved it ever since. Bob, for me, is a man who opened the industry to the world via television and entered people's homes and hearts to say and really mean that we all have the ability to paint/create artistic expression. I know many friends who bought the kit and looked at their finished piece with a deep breath saying, 'hey I did that... it's pretty good.' What a feeling!

So, like anything you first start. There may be some excitement and nerves to it. Whether it's your first brush stroke on a blank canvas, starting a new business, a new job, or a new home. We may at times, and I have in the past, put a lot of energy into our canvas being so right or so perfect. But, do you remember being a kid and painting? I would just go for it and put marks all over the place and try new things! It seems now, I have come full circle ;) and what a Joy it is! "Happy Painting"

Send us your Bob Ross paintings! We would love to hear from you!  ~ Pam

Sheep Watch

Have you ever wanted to visit somewhere in the world and have this picture in your head of how it would be like? The colors, the smells, the sensations, the wind, the heat, the shape of the clouds, how the leaves follow their destination. Well, this painting here is that image I have of Ireland with the sheep and farm life - and I AM going there :) Whatever is in your head. Paint it. Know the importance of imagination as Einstein did.

Steve Jobs once said (and I paraphrase): "people live their life thinking that this is it, that this is reality and we have to play within the lines. Have a nice family, get a good job, save a little money, and so forth. It is a very limited view. But for me, everything around you that is made up in life is made by people no smarter than you. And you can change it. You can influence it. You can build your own things that other people can use..."

So, to wrap it all up, I have created my own things that delight me and have thought into creation. Think of Disney, it all started with a mouse! Was there an actual mouse in red overalls hanging around him? No. There was only an idea. Imagination. See how far it can take you...hold on for the ride. ENJOY!

We would love for you to send in your pics of your art based on this concept. Who knows, we may feature it on our blog! Include a little write up as well ;) ~ Thx to all those who send in their pics! Nicky and Pam

It All Started with a Dog named Charlie Butt

I call this piece, "Window Gazing..." One of his many hobbies. I love this painting and have had a lot of demand from buyers but THIS ONE is not for sale. They look at the painting and see beautiful colors and images. I look at the painting and see memories. ~ Pam
